According to a survey conducted by Statista Consumer Insights along 38 countries, only the 20% and the 45% of the interviewees regarded environmental care and protection as one of the most important issues for their countries.

These are low numbers considering that it is the most significant challenge for the next years and much more, from a corporative perspective.

Brazil seems to lead the way in environmental issues, as the 45% of the interviewees expressed to be concerned about it. And what about Argentina? Just the 32% of the people interviewed empathized with this topic, being unemployment, poverty and education at the top of the list, as the three most important issued to be addressed.

Technology plays a crucial role in the companies’ commitment with environmental care and protection. Companies are increasingly resorting to innovative technological solutions so as to reduce their ecological footprint and improve their operative efficiency.

The implementation of green technology, such as renewable energy, the intelligent management of the suppling chain and real-time environmental monitoring, allows companies to optimize their processes, while reducing their environmental impact

This not only helps them fulfil the increasing environmental regulations, but also contributes to improve their public image and competitiveness in a market where sustainability is increasingly valued by consumers. That is to say, technology has become a key element for the companies to reach their objectives as regards environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability.

However, what do environmental care and protection practices report to a company?

      • Corporative social responsibility: Image and high reputation in a context where the new generations appreciate those actions performed by the companies they consume.
      • Cost saving: the efficient use of resources can help companies save money in the long term.
      • Access to new markets: as previously mentioned, the current consumer appreciates environmentally responsible companies.
      • Corporate resilience: those companies which take proactive actions to reduce environmental impact are better prepared to face future challenges.

To summarize, it implies not only an ethical responsibility for companies but also significant strategic and economic benefits. Environmental sustainability is an essential part of the modern corporate strategy.
